Copia is a monographic series about translations in architecture. Whether from one context to another, or from one field to another, Copia is interested in conscious and active appropriation: cultural anthropophagy, hacking, occupation.
Copia advocates for copyleft, the free and collective reproduction of ideas — and proposes a critical reflection on the very act of copying: why? From whom? How? Each Copia consists of 4 parts: a record-text; a translated text; a text that reacts to the translation; and a graphic essay.
Copia is the space of the university photocopy room: the freest reproduction of ideas.
COPIA 01 is about the COMMON, featuring texts by Olivia Marra, Tom Avermaete, and João Tonucci; and a graphic essay by Thiago Soveral, Cauê Capillé, Lucas Marques, and Bárbara Amorim. (Source: https://www.fau.ufrj.br/copia/)
